Shashi Thakur , New Delhi. India is witnessing a tremendous craze among youth for fitness and gyms. Currently, the fitness and gym market in India is worth approximately ₹16,200 crore.

Experts predict that this could reach ₹40,000 crore by 2030. According to them, this sector is growing rapidly, with annual growth of approximately 15 percent. Awareness about fitness has increased not only among young people but also among the elderly and women.


Make in India is getting a boost

People in cities, towns, and villages alike, are now becoming more conscious about their fitness. This is why gyms and fitness centers are no longer limited to large cities, but are rapidly opening in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities as well. Gyms are now opening in smaller towns as well. This is also promoting Make in India in the production of gym equipment, apps, and nutritional products.

According to experts, in just a few years, the size of this sector in India has reached approximately ₹16,200 crore, with over 50,000 fitness centers. This is expected to grow to over ₹40,000 crore in four years.
